Want to start your own business, but not confident you’ve got what it takes?
Maybe the story of Walt Disney (yes, he’s a real person) can inspire you?
In 1923 as a trained animator and aged just 21, Walt up sticked from Kansas City and moved to Los Angeles, to follow his dream of working in the movie business.
No film company would give him a job, but Walt didn’t let this squash his dream.
Although he knew it was going to be hard to break through, he persevered and found a way to start his own film company.
He used his little savings to rent a camera, convinced his uncle to let him set up a studio in his garage, and began making animated cartoons.
1934 was his break-through year, becoming the first person to create successful full-length animated feature films, such as Snow White, Fantasia and Bambi.
Fast forward to the 50’s. Walt was disgusted after visiting a number of theme parks, calling them “dirty, phony places, run by tough looking people”.
Right then he decided that The Walt Disney Company could build something much better, perhaps even being the best in the world. The rest is history.
Walt’s story inspires us to be the best in the world and ‘to make office technology solutions affordable to all’.
…can Walt inspire you to be the best in the world at something too?
