Some wonderful things are happening at our mental health charity partner Shiva Trust…
They’ve just started work renovating their old stone barn and are digging it out to put down some hard standing, whilst also erecting a poly tunnel to develop a new vegetable garden.
Amazingly they have secured £18,000 from the post code lottery in funding to mentor 54 young people over the next 12 months, to help them learn life and employability skills.
We’ve committed to help too, with another 420 trees being supplied in early November, which the young people being mentored will help to plant as part of their development plan.
Later this year Shiva Trust are creating a 30-foot fenced strip of land down the edge of two existing fields, which will give then enough space to plant another 1500 trees.
With this next batch of trees, together, we’ll break through the 2,000 planted trees barrier, and next year will get close to 4,000 trees once we’ve populated these freshly created stripes of land.
Why are we doing this?
- To help reverse climate change and de-forestation, in our own small way
- To support Shiva Trust in mentoring young people suffering from mental health
- To thank our customers for purchasing from us their office technology solutions
During August our customers signed up to 14 new office technology solutions including our home printing solution, our free office copier service, and our fixed price internet office phone system.
Each of these customers will now get a tree planted at Shiva Trust on their behalf and a personalised certificate printed and posted to them to display, showing them where their tree is planted.
If you need to reduce your office technology costs and would like to work with an organisation who takes mentoring our young people and environmental responsibility seriously, please contact us.
