Most organisations need to print certain documents, which means they buy paper…
Although most paper is made using trees in managed sustainable forests, we’re still conscious to produce paper trees still need to be felled.
Understanding that trees form part of the solution to addressing climate change (they take carbon out of the atmosphere and store it for centuries) we have an idea.
We’ve been planting a tree for customers who buy a printer solution or office phone system for a year or two, and think it makes sense to extend the initiative to anyone who buys a pallet of paper.
The plant a tree idea was born after seeing the trees in the Amazon burning, where de-forestation was happening to produce more farming land.
Unfortunately clearing forests just adds to the climate crisis, and means less trees are inhaling and storing the carbon we produce, compounding global warming.
Trees are our allies in the fight against a changing climate, yet just 13% of the UK’s land area is covered by trees (compared with an EU average of 37%). The bottom line is, we need more trees.
Trees are only part of the solution. Other changes must be made to reduce global CO2 emissions and an effective response lies in the hands of world politicians. But we can still plant more trees to help.
This is something a small business like MY Total Office Solutions can help with, and we won’t use one of these carbon offsetting projects in a far-off land, we’ll plant you a tree ourselves in England.
We work with mental health charity (Shiva Trust) headquartered at Meadows Farm and Animal Sanctuary in Lancashire, their team and volunteers are helping us plant 3,000 trees on their land.
It’s no carbon offset program. It’s real. You can even go look for yourself. Although, once you’ve purchased a pallet of paper or office technology solution, we’ll send you a tree planted certificate.
No room for a pallet of paper?
Don’t worry, we’ll store it for you, counting down the pallet every time you need a box or 2.
