Amazing teamwork is the bedrock of any great organisation…
And it’s no different with our charity partner Shiva Trust.
At their Meadows Farm headquarters in Rossendale, they rely on a continuous stream of young volunteers, supported by a core group of charity members.
These people come together to form teams with a mission to make Meadows Farm a sanctuary for young people, through learning how to care for the environment, wildlife, nature, and animals.
With a teamwork goal to enact social change, so that someday we may each experience a compassionate world for all creatures (including humans) great and small.
Shiva Trust is a small organisation, lacking financial resources and are continuously seeking social investment partners (to keep the lights on), who share their vision of a society where every person regardless of social or economic circumstance is afforded equal respect and equal opportunity.
There are 2 reasons we’re supporting Shiva Trust:
- Our values are aligned
- We required someone to help us plant trees
When I look back it makes me smile what we’ve achieved together with great teamwork.
Following a Facebook video asking for land to plant trees, came a chance meeting in Tesco with Anand (charity manger), who shouted ‘you’re the tree guy’. To having now planted nearly 3,000 trees together, whilst raising £1,000’s towards keeping the lights on and wheels turning.
Aside of the pandemic, it’s been an amazing couple of years supporting Shiva Trust, seeing how they work with young people in a quest to build equal respect and equal opportunity.
It’s not just been about us, our customers have been involved and should be proud of what they’ve achieved too, as they’re the reason we’ve planted nearly 3,000 trees.
You see, we wanted to make our own small difference to climate change and de-forestation.
So, we committed to plant a tree for each customer who agrees a new office solution. Like print & scan technology, internet phones and laptops with Office 365, all on fixed monthly agreements.
We even send them a letter (with a certificate) saying thank you and telling them where their tree has been planted.
But we ended up finding much more…
As we also found a way to help young people through Shiva Trust too. Alongside the environment, wildlife, nature, and animals.
If you ever get the chance do visit Shiva Trust at Meadows Farm, it’s right on the Rossendale Way circular walk with scenic views and benches to eat your lunch.
…and you can also check how the trees are getting along too.
