Gooday. You got time for a business book review?
Michael Hyatt is the former chairman & CEO of world leading book publishers Thomas Nelson. Now he’s a bestselling serial author and successful entrepreneur.
Over the last 10 years (to aid the growth of his business) Michael has concentrated on growing his own personal brand, through blogging about leadership and life.
Through channels such as his website blog, his podcast and twitter account. Michael has gone from zero subscribers to over half a million. Which has had a huge impact on his coaching business.
His New York Times bestseller ‘Platform’ promises to help you get noticed in a noisy world. Providing the blueprint of how Michael has achieved his subscriber success.
Michaels very clear. Having a fantastic product is simply not enough anymore. The marketing world is so noisy you just can’t get noticed. Unless you have a platform to create a following.
It’s a subject that interests me greatly & one I really believe in. Through our products we’re aiming to disrupt the office technology industry & having the right platform will help us achieve it.
I’ve reviewed 2 other books recently on similar subjects. Daniel Priestley’s Key Person of Influence & Seth Godin’s Tribes. Which are both excellent. But don’t go into the level of detail as this one.
The book takes you through steps like:
- What to blog about
- The right blogging solution
- How best to set up your blog pages
- Building a subscriber list
- Why you should embrace Twitter
- Setting up & getting the best out of Twitter
- Using a Facebook fan page
- Engaging your tribe
Yes some of the stuff you’ll know. But the majority will blow you away. If you’re interested in building a personal brand to run along-side your own organisation. This is a book for you.
‘Platform’ gets a 👍 & ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
