Today’s business 📚 review will help you increase sales…
I’ve been badgered for a while to read & review a couple of Grant Cardone’s 📚’s
This week I’ve taken the plunge & read ‘If You’re Not First You’re Last’. It’s about sales strategies that help you dominate your market & to beat your competition.
Back in 2010 it was a New York Times bestseller & was written on the back of the financial crisis. Grant wrote it to motivate people to sell themselves out of the recession & stop using excuses.
Yes. I know. It’s 9 years old. But do you know what. It’s can be used in the same way for BREXIT motivation. As I’m sure many of us are using BREXIT as an excuse for a tough market.
I’ll be honest with you. Not everyone will like Grant’s straight talking & no-nonsense approach. Yes. He comes across very over-confident & a bit brash at times (certainly on the audio version).
But if you cut through that. A lot of what he says makes complete sense.
Sales is not about dancing round the 👜 waiting for people to come to you. You’ve got to take the 🐂 by the horns, get yourself out there looking for ways to help & asking for business.
Yes. Your product or service has still got to help people solve a problem (whether that’s process, time or 💰 related). Otherwise not many will be interested in it anyway.
But it’s not about having the cheapest price. It’s about providing fantastic value propositions & telling people about them (selling) to set you apart. Which most of your competitors don’t do.
Grant’s very clear. In quiet times. It’s important your sales activity increases & you don’t fall into the trap of shutting up shop to save money in the hope things will blow over soon & improve.
It’s not just about doing 1 or 2 things either. It’s a multi-channel approach. Hunting for business via the phone, email, direct mail, social media, networking, bold calling & face 2 face meetings.
Once I got past the brashness. I really enjoyed the 📚 & relate to much of what Grant says. I’d recommend it to everyone in a sales role. Which is pretty much all of us in a business. Isn’t it?
‘If You’re Not First You’re Last’ gets a 👍 & ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
