Meet Paul Bolton (AKA Kendo) our technical director at MY Total Office Solutions…
For those in the dark, we call him Kendo after Kendo Nagasaki the masked Japanese (not really) TV wrestler from the 70’s and 80’s.
And if you want to know why, either ask him or me, it’s funny, but too long for this post.
Kendo (Paul) looks after our office technology service team at our other business (MY Total Office Solutions), and has long been sceptical about having a full electric vehicle, saying to me:
‘I just don’t want one as I don’t trust the range will work for me.’

Couple of weeks back I was going on holiday with the family, and Kendo’s car was due to go into the garage to repair some bodywork damage, caused by a hit and run.
So, I suggested he take my Ioniq 5 for a couple of weeks, which he reluctantly accepted.
Amazingly, when I got back today, he was gushing. Saying, “having it for 2 weeks has completely changed my mind-set about having an electric car”.
“Having to plug-in and charge caused range anxiety, and I never thought an EV could work for me.”
“But having driven one for a period of time, I now understand how easy charging is, and it’s about regular top ups rather than running the battery down and charging all night.”
“I even had a call out to fix a photocopier in Middlesborough and set off with 150-mile range, completed the job, then popped to the local Tesco which had a 50Kw rapid charger, plugged in, bought a meal deal, ate my lunch, by which time I had plenty of charge to get back home”.
“I’ll be telling you my next car has to a full electric when the lease is up on my i30 tourer”.
So, if a 2-week test drive in an electric car can change the mind-set of a 1970’s Japanese (not really) TV wrestler, it can change your mind-set too.
