Gooday. Got time for the ultimate business book review?
Chet Holmes has worked with over 60 of the Fortune 500 companies as America’s top marketing executive, trainer, strategic consultant and motivation expert.
He has identified and developed 12 core competencies that are proven to provide the main structure of truly great companies.
Back in 2007 Chet documented these core competencies into a book called ‘The Ultimate Sales Machine’, which became a national best seller.
I first read it about 10 years ago and reading it back through again, ready for this book review, really showed me that many of Chet’s learnings are timeless classics.
Yes technology and advertising channels have moved on a bit and small pockets of the book are now outdated. But most of the book is still as current today.
It’s easy to follow and set out in chapters covering each of his core competencies. And each chapter comes with real stories and ideas how each competency can be utilised.
Chet’s also created lots of small exercises to get you to practise the individual steps that form each of his core competencies.
Now, you’ve got to understand Chet is the real deal. He learnt his trade working for Warran Buffets business partner Charlie Munger, doubling sales 3 years in a row.
When Chet 1st released this book, leading business figures called him ‘one of the greatest teachers of marketing sales and business success in the world’.
The books not just about sales. It’s about all aspects of running a business, highlighting and showing you all the areas that need to be optimised to achieve the greatest results.
I love the book & I’m up to page 181 of the 3rd read.
Good friend of mind & Sales Geek Jonathan Finch loved the book too. So, 2 recommendations for the price of 1.
‘The Ultimate Sales Machine’ gets a thumbs up & 5 stars.
