Amazon has changed lives…
The world’s best companies (both large and small) are learning quickly what they’re doing and implementing strategies so they can still compete.
If you want to know about Amazon (we mean really know about Amazon), then you must read ‘Bezonomics’ written by Brian Dumaine.
It’s not a superficial book, Dumaine get’s right under the skin of Amazon, and gains excess to the company’s top executives.
The book highlights the relentless drive Bezos had about constantly improving the customer experience, creating what Dumaine calls Amazon’s AI fly wheel, which continues turning.
Amazon has created its own inflection point (a market changing event), fuelled by a continuous wave of innovation in data, artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, and the Internet of Things.
Many of you wouldn’t believe it. Amazon is one the biggest global tech companies, with the core of their service built around the world’s most innovative technologies.
Interestingly, Amazon say they support small retailers through their marketplace programme, rather than wanting to squash them.
Although, Dumaine uncovers practises of Amazon monitoring which Marketplace products are selling well, and then creating the same product under the Amazon brand, whilst then squeezing out the Marketplace seller.
What makes Amazon so successful is complicated, contradictory, and controversial, driven relentlessly and ruthlessly by Bezos. To find out this secret sauce you must read this book.
Incidentally, Bezos initially wanted to call the company ‘Relentless’
‘Bezonomics’ gets a thumbs up and five stars.
