BT eco-warriors sent to help us plant trees
BT eco-warriors

Meet eco-warriors Joshua, Sid, Nicolle, Sham, Jonny, Abbie and latafal…

Normally they’re beavering away at BT towers in Accrington, helping to keep Lancashire’s phone and broadband network in tip top shape.

But BT have allowed these great people to take time out on a corporate sponsorship day, to assist Anand and his team at Meadows Farm to plant our next forest of trees.

This next batch of 420 trees is a mix of grey willow, silver birch, Wild Cherry, and Rowan, which will create a rich and varied habitat for the local wildlife.

Meadows Farm in Rossendale is associated with Shiva Trust Charity and has twenty-six acres of agricultural land to grow a variety of trees, organic vegetables, seeds, plants, and medicinal herbs.

It’s a sanctuary for rescued or abused animals, amazing environment projects such as recycling plastic, wood, and natural habitat cultivation.

Which provides employment opportunities for individuals from a range of vulnerable groups of people, and programmes of farming-related activities for individuals with defined needs.

We’ve been involved with the charity for just over a year, with our first planting in November 2020. Since (through our customers and partners), we’ve planted over 3,000 trees, reforesting the area.

Why have we done this?

Two reason really. Initially because we wanted to help (in our own small way) to slow down global warming, by replacing needed carbon storing trees, previously cleared through de-forestation.

Then, once we witnessed the fantastic work Shiva Trust and Meadows Farm carryout with dis-advantaged and vulnerable young people, we just had to extend our work with them.

You see, we’ve committed to plant a tree at Meadows Farm for every customer who signs up to an office technology agreement.

This could be home or workplace print/scan technology, an internet office phone system, or our PC/Laptop/Office 365 rental bundle.

Which means, it’s not just us taking corporate social responsibility seriously, it’s our customers too.

So, if you want to benefit from affordable office technology with guaranteed fixed prices, and would like to be part of our corporate social responsibility program…
