Inspiration can come in many forms…
People in business can be inspired by the stories of successful entrepreneurs like Alan Sugar & Richard Branson. Both of which have grown their business & own personal brand from nothing. Encountering many ups & downs along the way.
Then you’ve got sports, movie & music stars who can inspire & act as a major influence in all of our lives, including our children.
We all have hopes, dreams & goals that we want to achieve in our lives. And having a person who can inspire you to achieve them, is a good thing. Isn’t it?
Personally I see inspiration in a slightly different way…
Yes. I admire people like Alan Sugar, Richard Branson & Michelle Mone for what they have achieved from nothing. And I admire people like David Beckham, Roger Federer, Sean Connery, Adele & The Red Hot Chilli Peppers for what they have achieved in their chosen fields.
But, the people who inspire me the most. Are people just like you or me. Who are prepared to step outside of their comfort zone. Sticking their heads high above the parapet. To do something radical. Not to benefit themselves. To benefit others who are in need.
I’m talking about people like Scott Cunliffe from Burnley…
Scott suffers from post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). A series of traumatic events (while working in Asia) left Scott feeling alone, isolated and struggling to cope with life.
Through running. Scott has turned his personal tragedy into positive change. And has embarked on a journey of redemption.
Being a mad Burnley FC fan Scott came up with the brilliantly insane idea of running from Burnley’s ground to every away teams ground. And he has to do it in time to watch the teams play.
This is no walk in the park. Have a think about some the furthest away teams in the premier league. Places like Brighton, Arsenal, Chelsea & Spurs. Scott runs for days to get to some of these places. Covering up to 50 miles every single day.
We’re proud to be providing the support vehicle for Scott & his team this weekend on the Liverpool leg. Yes I know. It’s a pin prick. Compared to the time & effort Scott & his team have committed to this project.
So for me. Scott Cunliffe is a person who inspires me the most. He inspires me to stop moaning about my little troubles. He inspires me to get on with life. He inspires me to achieve my hopes, dreams & goals.
Scott wants your help to achieve he’s hopes, dreams & goals too.
He’s worked out that the average premiership football attendance is 38,000. And he wants to raise £1 for every person this represents. Raising £38,000. Which will be distributed to a number of charities to help fellow mental health suffers.
If we all donated just £1 we’ll get Scott way past his target & make his mammoth project worthwhile. Read his story at http://therunawaychallenge.org/
