In 1968 Ph.D.’s, George Land & Beth Jarman, gave a test (used by NASA to measure the creativity of their new recruits) to 5-year olds.
Then they gave the same test to 10-year olds and next to children aged 15.
The results were astonishing…
98% of 5-year olds demonstrated genius levels of creativity.
Which dropped dramatically to 30% within 10-year olds.
And once aged 15, genius creativeness drops to a lowly 10%.
That’s not the whole picture though, as the same test was given to adults.
Where genius creativity hit rock bottom, showing up in a minuscule 2% of the adults tested.
Young children are extremely creative, until they start going to school, where their creativity drops.
School teaches us there’s only one answer for each question and requests us to conform to conventional social wisdom’s.
So, what’s the difference between adult geniuses and most of us other adults?
Adult geniuses manage never to lose their childhood creativity.
I don’t know about you, but we’re off to the shops to buy some pull-ups.
