Walmart+ provides unlimited free delivery costing $12.95 a month (with a free trial period) according to a press release.

Walmart said it would “continue to have delivery options with transaction fees, giving customers a choice.”

Along with unlimited delivery, the service includes fuel discounts and Scan & Go checkout options.

It’s clearly Walmart fighting directly against Amazon & Prime.

Particularly with Amazon entering the grocery business through Whole Foods Market and Amazon Fresh.

And no doubt, it won’t be long before Walmart expand the subscription delivery model into Asda, its UK grocer.

Both Prime and Walmart+ provide free next day delivery on a large selection of products for a fixed monthly or annual fee.

Creating more pressure on local businesses, who are being continuously battered with the ongoing pandemic.
