This week, I think I’ve come across the best business book I’ve ever read…

It’s not a business book pur se. Although that’s the context in how I interpreted it. Others would probably see it as a self-help life coaching type book.

Nevertheless. ‘The Alchemist’ written by the legendary Paulo Coelho is a masterpiece. I can’t believe I’ve only just stumbled across it.

For me. It’s a story about personal legends. Telling that each of us has our own unique destiny mapped out, but that very few of us manage to fulfill them.

When young we dream about what we want to achieve. But whilst we grow it get’s lost in school, parents and others telling us why we shouldn’t realise these dreams.

You can see some around us have pursued their own dreams & discovered their personal legend, through much sacrifice and effort.

People like Usain Bolt, Mother Teresa, Mohammed Ali, Picasso, Einstein, Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Virginia Woolf, Pele & even Oprah Winfrey.

It’s not about background or chosen field. These people understood their personal legend and sacrificed everything to achieve it. Now transcending as examples to others.

The book tells the story of how a Spanish shepherd boy realises his dreams of travelling the world and discovering wonderful treasures.

Getting influenced by people he meets along the way, side-tracking him from his journey. In the end he perseveres by listening to his heart and fulfills his own personal legend.

It’s a must read for everyone. Because we all have hopes & dreams to achieve.
