Good day. Time for a business book review?
Alison Edgar is a thought-leader in the field of sales. Known as the Entrepreneur’s Godmother, she has over 25 years’ experience as an award-winning salesperson.
Leaving the world of blue-chip sales, Alison set up her own business to work with entrepreneurs, start-ups and sales teams. Now Managing Director of Sales Coaching Solutions.
‘Secrets of Successful Sales’ is her 1st book. Alison though, admits she didn’t think she could write a book because of dyslexia. Which I relate too, as I suffer from it a little too.
But after building confidence and honing skills writing articles & blogs, she broke out of her comfort zone to release ‘Secrets of Successful Sales’ in 2018.
Yes. It talks a little about Alison’s upbringing and previous roles. But in the main it’s a pure sales book, taking you through the entire sales process using 4 key pillars.
Alison believes (as I do) sales is all about building relationships. But to do this you must understand the personality traits of your prospects.
To do this Alison uses DISC profiling and the associated red, yellow, green & blue personality colours. But takes it to a deeper level to help you build strong relationships with your prospects.
The sales process Alison lays out is easy to understand and straight forward. If you follow the steps it will help you form much better relationships, which will turn into more sales.
Like me, Alison believes most of us are in sales and sales & customer service is 1 in the same thing. Although I didn’t get too excited, it’s a good book & definitely worth reading.
Any sales or customer service people currently sat at home furloughed or waiting for the phone to ring, get yourself a copy of this book, and learn some new things ready for the big switch on.
‘Secrets of Successful Sales’ gets a thumbs up & 4 stars.
