When we talk about a photocopier, it’s usually because photocopiers are the cheapest to run (laser quality) printing devices on the market…
Yes, they also come with a whole host of other benefits and functions (such as A3 size printing, copying and scanning). But for most people, the most important thing, is how much money they can save you.
A new colour copier will cost you around £2,500, which works out at about £50 a month on a 5 year lease. And then around 4p (colour) and 0.4p (mono) for each page you print (this covers all consumables (including cartridges), parts and repairs).
As an example. If you are a organisation that prints 3,000 colour pages and 2,000 mono pages a month (this is not unusual). A photocopier will cost you £178 a month. And a typical desktop colour laser printer will cost around £340 a month for the same volume. Making the photocopier about 50% cheaper, even allowing for the extra cost (£2,500) to lease it.
So, imagine our surprise last week, when Warran Bolton (a good friend of ours) who operates a great business called OwlTree Web Solutions) came to see us with a printing related challenge that wasn’t about the price, it was all about the quality…
Warran and his team provide individual websites, which are unique to you, as each one is coded from scratch using a range of languages conforming to the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) standards, ensuring your website is coded correctly and operates at it’s maximum.
Normally (as the ‘Money Saving Experts’ for the office & workplace) in these situations, we would sit down with the client and work out the best way of saving them the most money on their internal document printing. But with Warran, this was not the case. Yes, he didn’t want to pay the earth, but at the same time he wasn’t willing to compromise on the quality required.
You see, Warran has identified an area in his business, which if improved, will greatly increase his new client conversation rates. And it all revolves around the quality of their proposals. So, after having them professionally redesigned, Warran and his team, found his existing printing solution didn’t cut the mustard anymore. So he reached out to us for help.
After testing it on a number of different devices, the only one that actually cut the mustard for Warran was the photocopier. Even our most cost effective business printing solution (Infinity) could not steer Warran away.
This created another challenge. Warran didn’t feel financially comfortable committing to a 5 year lease to buy a new copier, so we quickly worked out an alternative solution that worked for us both.
We’ve agreed to provide Warran with a refurbished photocopier for free, and all he pays, is for the pages he prints…
Yes there is an agreed minimum monthly billing of £50 (which enables us to make a little profit), but for that, Warran gets to print 1,000 colour pages or 10,000 mono pages (or a mixture of the 2) each month. And as with a new one, all the consumables, parts and repairs are included.
So for those of you, who need or just want the quality or extra functions that a photocopier will provide (but don’t want to commit to a 5 year financial lease to purchase a new copier), you have a viable solution. MY Free Copier.
