Good day…
I’ve got a cracking read for you today…
It’s ‘Persuade’ written by Lancastrian (although he now lives in Yorkshire) Philip Hesketh.
Philip has spent years in high profile sales & marketing roles. And now delivers talks all over the world about the art of Persuasion.
In fact, I went to a talk he did in his home town of Harrogate a couple of years ago, and he persuaded me to buy his book. See inside, he’s even signed it.
Philip believes that we have 7 psychological drivers:
- The need to be loved
- The need to feel important
- The need to ‘belong’
- The need to believe
- The need for some certainty & some uncertainty
- The need for ‘a place’
- The need for growth & improvement
And, if you can understand how these drivers work, you have a much higher probability of persuading someone to do something, stop doing something or choose you over someone else.
It’s important to note though. Philip only advocates honesty & integrity when using his powers of persuasion. And has created many friends for life through his genuine approach.
The book takes you on Philips life journey & is filled with amusing stories & sharp 1 liners. Which together, keep things light & easy to understand.
Yes, Philip Hesketh is a master of persuasion. But he carries it out in an honest & genuine way.
The book gets a thumbs up & a 5-rating stars.
And if you ever get the chance to attend one of his talks, grab it with both hands. You won’t be disappointed
