Dr Stephen Covey talks about its in his book ‘The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People’.
It’s a pattern of effectiveness that’s a natural law and is all around us.
P stands for Production and the PC stands for Production Capability.
The P / PC balance becomes unbalanced when a person or business doesn’t manage their time, resources, and energy effectively.
Production is the ability to produce anything. This might be products, great customer service or even producing good feelings to whoever you come across.
Production Capability is how much of this you can produce in the limited time you have each day, week, month, or year etc.
Let’s take customers as an example:
Looking after a customer following a sale is even more important than before the sale.
If they feel you lose interest in them the P / PC balance becomes unbalanced and it’s likely, the customer will leave to seek another supplier who makes them feel more valued.
For instance. If a customer comes to one of our team with a problem, no matter how small. They’d see it as an immediate opportunity to build a stronger relationship.
Straight away they’d respond with a cheerful positive desire to solve the problem, in a way that will make the customer happy.
They’d treat the customer with grace and respect, giving them such excellent service, our customer wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else.
Keeping the P / PC balance balanced.
By seeing the P / PC balance as necessary to effectiveness, we can value problems to create loyalty and strong customers relationships.
…increasing the likely hood of customers not just staying loyal, also referring others too.
