My Total Office Solutions (which incorporates Cartridge World East Lancashire), has developed a unique and novel way to keep in contact with their customers and increase sales during August, notoriously one of the quietest months of the year for the printing supplies industry.
The ‘Stay Close Program’ consists of a post card with an industry relevant cartoon on the front with company branding and contact details on the bottom, on the reserve is the customers address details and room for a stamp or frank with a key message for that month. On this occasion MY Total Office Solutions are running a ‘Buy 1 Get 1 Half Price’ promotion, on aftermarket cartridges throughout August.
Darren Turner, Managing Director of MY Total Office Solutions said “It’s a simple idea. Maybe you think it is too simple – but think it through for a moment. If you were going to make a purchase and you had a mental list of, say, six or seven potential suppliers, who would you go to first? The less familiar ‘number five’ on the list or the ones near the top? What about if your existing supplier isn’t doing a particular brilliant job, but the number 2 supplier on your list has been making themselves known to them on a regular basis”.
Darren went on to say “We wanted a cost effective way of communicating with our existing customers, with the people resources we have it was taking six months to speak to each customer, which is way too long and we needed to find a way of reducing this to one month. The idea came about from some work we did with David Gibbon (Director at RTMedia.com) last year, when David arranged for their world renowned comic illustrator ‘BERTO’, to sketch out an MOT garage scene to go with a relevant press release. After contacting David again and explaining the promotion we are running in August, David provided us with an existing BERTO sketch that really compliments what we are offering”.
David Gibbon, Director of RTMedia.com commented. “We are always willing to get involved in projects with Darren and his team, as they are very forward thinking and not scared to try new things. I’m hoping this campaign is a roaring success and we will share the results with our readers in a later publication”.
