You’ve guessed it. It’s business book review time…
Laura Stack is an award-winning keynote speaker, bestselling author, and leading expert in the field of human performance and workplace issues.
Laura is also the president of ‘The Productivity Pro Inc’, which specialises in productivity improvement in high stress organisations.
Her favourite business book ever is Peter Drucker’s 1967 classic ‘The Effective Executive’. But she thought Drucker’s concepts needed an update for the 21st Century.
‘Doing the Right Things Right’ is Laura’s homage to Peter’s original book. But doesn’t replace Drucker’s work in any way, it adds to it, making it fit better within modern society.
As Drucker’s book did, ‘Doing the Right Things Right’ takes you on an executive (someone in a senior leadership position) journey, detailing the key things you must concentrate on.
In all honesty, I think Laura has added her own spin to many of Drucker’s original ideas, and in most cases made them fit the modern business environment.
Yes. Some of Drucker’s ideas are basic, which most of you will be doing all ready. But I bet there’s many things in Laura’s book that you don’t do and that will benefit you.
The key takeaway for me. Is that there are many things an executive can do to have a positive impact on both their own and their team’s performance.
And if you can put them all together and implement them in a consistent way, it can have a hugely positive effect on overall business performance.
This book is worth reading for anyone starting or established in a leadership position.
‘Doing the Right Things Right’ gets a 👍 & ⭐⭐⭐⭐
