Are small enterprises (rather than large) in a stronger position to disrupt their market?
Back in 2016 HP launched a new range of office print & scan technology, saying in a press release:
‘For decades, the copier category has lacked the disruptive innovation needed to drive service efficiency, protect against security breaches and deliver cost-effective colour.’
‘Today, HP is changing this with a next-generation portfolio of A3 MFP printing solutions that deliver the simplicity, reliability, serviceability, and security to transform business printing.’
And Enrique Lores, president of Imaging & Printing at HP Inc was quoted as saying:
“The complexity of traditional copiers makes repair and maintenance too inefficient for our partners and customers.”
“By leveraging our superior printing technology, we can change the status quo with next-generation A3 multifunction printers that improve the overall customer and partner experience.”
“Whilst also serving as a springboard for growth in managed print and document services. This is what we mean by reinventing printing.”
But nothings changed, they didn’t disrupt the market. Why?
Probably because what they provided wasn’t much different to what was already available. Some would even say: ‘the cost of ownership of HP’s solutions were much higher than others.’
People also need certainty and peace of mind.
Not just that the solutions are fit for purpose. But when it goes wrong it’s all covered for life and that they’re payment solutions available to suit them, with no hidden price rises or extra charges.
You see, this is where the print & scan technology manufacturers go wrong. They bring out new products and try to shoehorn them into customer environments, without thinking what’s right.
Smaller organisations (who are not manufacture specific) can design solutions that fit specific customer environments, which include creative and affordable payment schemes.
As an example…
We operate in the small to medium enterprise space, and we’ve studied hard what the ideal print & scan solutions of the future will be, designing them accordingly.
We know each customer is different, and we’ll only suggest a solution which is fit for purpose, with a ‘no penalty’ upgrade or downgrade path if their situation changes.
Our solutions are provided with life-time fixed prices, short term agreements (penalty free) and come complete with life-time warranty & support.
We’re not manufacturer dependent, which means we can suggest solutions to match exact needs and budget, and not shoehorn something to fit.
Conclusion…
The current situation (half empty offices & flexibility of home working) has only accelerated the need for organisations to be creative with the solutions they provide.
While large enterprises are wrestling with their own internal structures, turning to AI solutions (automation software), closing offices and reducing employee numbers.
Us smaller organisation have a unique opportunity to disrupt your own market, through designing and providing what your customers need right now.
…don’t miss your chance to disrupt
