Aside of family & friends. Time is the most precious thing we have & you can’t turn it back…
So, for me a default diary is a business necessity. What do I mean by a default diary?
In its simplest format. It’s a weekly list of the activities you want to focus on each day. Ruled by specific time slots.
Let’s take mine as an example…
As you can see. Each morning & after-noon I do the school run. I don’t see my children enough, so this is an activity I want to do & try never to change.
Part of each morning is then put aside to update all our business figures, so our team know exactly where we’re at & what we need to do. Followed by admin time for emails & phone calls.
Most of my afternoons are then spent building relationships with existing customers & new prospects. This could be physical networking, online networking, customer showcase videos, meetings or bold calling.
If you’re not sure about bold calling. It’s when we walk into a new prospects business with some information. Find out the right contact details. And follow up with them by phone or LinkedIn.
Early evening is always put aside to write informative articles (like this 1) for our websites. And to share them across our social media platforms.
Together with MY Total Office Solutions (our main website) we have 3 others offering unique products. Never Buy Ink Again houses our fixed price home printing solution Infinity. MY Print Service is our affordable small organisation managed print service & MY Total Copier Solutions provides organisations with feature rich fast photocopier technology with guaranteed prices & simple terms.
Each website requires articles specific to their target market. Which helps with SEO & makes sure we attract the right demographic when shared across social media.
And the final activity on my diary every Friday evening is my book review videos. I love doing these. And it’s my way of helping others. I read a book every week. So why not share the knowledge?
I can assure you, there are many times I’m pulled away from my default diary. Usually it’s the team asking me to do an urgent delivery or meetings that can’t happen between 11 & 3. But the key thing is. You must always revert to the timed activity once the non-diary work has been completed.
