BT has been a great British institution…
But is it too big and slow to react in a constantly changing and fast moving global economy?
Small organisations are the main stay of the British economy, and need to be lean, with the ability to change direction at the push of a button.
In comparison, BT is a massive oil tanker, which can take months or even years to turn and change direction.
Take telephone systems as an example…
BT are still heavily pushing fixed line telephone technology. But the market had advanced to the stage, where telephone systems that operate over broadband, offer a fantastic quality of service (with built in rich functions like voice mail, call routing and hunt groups as standard) for a fraction of the cost of BT fixed lines.
We recently carried out one of our (no obligation) free assessments for a Blackburn based packaging business (Harrison Verity Products).
HVP had three fixed BT lines coming in, plus a number of extra services that BT charged for separately, along with their associated call charges.
In total HVP, had 2 handsets (1 for in bound calls and 1 for outbound calls), which used 2 of their lines, and the 3rd line was used for their broadband and fax.
HVP set us a real challenge, they wanted to increase their handsets from 2 to 4 and still see a significant saving.
But also coupled together with the following extra benefits:
- Have the ability to all dial out or take calls at the same time
- All handsets to have direct dial numbers
- All handsets ringing in a hunt group when someone calls the main business number
- All handsets to have individual voice mails for their direct dial numbers
- Have a seperate voice mail for the main business number attached to the office handset
- Ability to transfer calls between users
- Ability to add on call recording in the future
- U.K. Landline and mobile call charges to be included.
So, going back to what we discussed about technology advancements, and the fantastic quality of service now available through a broadband based business telephone system.
We designed a solution for HVP utilising exactly this kind of technology, which we call Cloud Talk.
Our solution delivered a 54% saving to HVP, against their existing BT arrangement.
In real cash terms it equates to a saving of £110 a month, which over the term of our 3 year agreement is saving HVP a massive £4,000.
So any UK organisation using BT fixed line technology, has an opportunity to save a packet, by adopting a broadband telephone solution.
And as the ‘Money Saving Experts‘ for the office and workplace, we guarantee our customers the quality and the price for the duration of our agreement with them.
