Good day. Ready for a business 📚 review?
Sorry. I’ve been a little self-indulgent this week & plumped for a war zone leadership style book.
Currently. It feels like the world is in a war combating the virus & business leaders all over the world are in a war to keep their business afloat & their teams employed
So I’ve gone for a huge dollop of guts, determination & perseverance, sprinkled with no small measure of teamwork.
Ant Middleton’s ‘First Man In’ is a great read & will keep you turning the pages right to the end. In fact, you won’t want to put in down.
Yes. Ant talks about his life. Losing his father when he was young. Joining the Royal Engineers. Becoming a paratrooper & then going completely off the rails ending up in prison.
But this wasn’t the reason I wanted to read it…
I wanted to get inside Ant’s head. To understand how he’d developed such a strong mindset. Being able to lead people in a war zone, whilst keeping calm & making the right critical decisions.
It seems. Ant didn’t really find himself until joining the special forces, where his natural leadership skills blossomed & his sheer will & determination to get the job done shone through.
His ability to block everything else out of his mind (even the most excruciating pain) to focus on leading his team and seeing the mission through to its conclusion, is amazing.
Yes. He’s had one hell of journey with many ups and downs. But through sheer will, determination, & perseverance, Ant always managed to turn things around. And he’s fired me up with right mindset for the road ahead.
‘First Man In’ gets a 👍 & ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
