Today, I want to give you some straight up honest advice…
Please don’t let your supplier upgrade your agreement, without checking the financials stack up.
This covers telephone systems, printer technology equipment and even IT systems.
Why?
Because you may end up financing fresh air, and it may cost you much more cash in the long run.
A new client of ours has experienced this very problem with a cloud phone system.
Originally, they entered into an agreement for 5 handsets with 40/10 fibre to the cabinet broadband, paying circa £200 a month.
3 years on they’d grown and needed 5 more handsets. Instead of assessing things thoroughly, their supplier talked them into a new 5-year agreement with new handsets for all 10 users.
Unbeknown to the client, their supplier wrapped the remaining original agreement balance into the new agreement, inflating the monthly charge to circa £600 a month.
But it gets worse…
Their supplier failed to consider the extra bandwidth requirements, and for the last 2 years they’ve struggled with slow broadband, stuttering voice calls and telephone calls dropping out.
It came to head recently when they asked their supplier to sort out their broadband problems.
They said they could, if they’d sign another 5-year agreement, and they would again upgrade their handsets and install a dedicated 100GB leased line. All this for a whopping £1,100 a month!
…whatever agreements you have, please be clear about the financials before you renew.
