Good day. It’s business book review time…
This week I’ve been on a voyage of discovery. You might even say trying to find myself again.
I’ve delved deep inside Dr Stephen Covey’s ‘7 Habits of Highly Effective People’ losing all track of time. This book does that to you.
Dr Covey is full of wisdom and thinks deep about life, business, and careers. Which he spills out into this 332-page monster of a book.
Yes. It takes some reading. But please don’t be put off. There are some amazing lessons for everyone to learn within its pages.
Although it’s based around 7 key principles, it’s not a guide. It’s gives you an opportunity to open your mind and explore yourself, to understand what impact you have on others.
And it offers you profound insights, which, if implemented into your identity, could change your life and the life of others around you.
Theirs masses of learnings…
But 2 things really stick in my head. Stephen’s green and clean story about stewardship delegation with his son (within habit 3) and the entire habit 4. Think Win Win.
I found Think Win Win so enlightening I’m going to cover it in more detail for you next week.
Although this book was written in 1989, it’s just as relevant today as it was back then. Given the current situation, probably even more relevant.
Get yourself a copy. It could be just what you need right now.
A little tip. The audio version is great. Stephen reads it himself, and he’s just got one of those voices you could listen to all day.
‘7 Habits of Highly Effective People’ gets a thumbs up & 5 stars.
